The South African Bull Terrier Club, in addition to holding an annual championship and open show, also organizes and hosts the Major Trophy Show Event, which incorporates the Supreme Bull Terrier, Ormandy Jugs and Vases, Coloured Bull Terrier of the Year and the Stud Dog and Brood Bitch Competition. This annual event is overseen by the Executive sub-committee of the South African Bull Terrier Club which is made up of participating Chairmen from other Bull Terrier Clubs in South Africa. The Major Trophy Show is governed by Schedule 1 To The Constitution Of The SABTC (SCHEDULE 5E (15) REGULATION 1.3 [PDF / WORD]), effective 01 September 2005. The South African Bull Terrier Annual which is available for purchase through the club, is produced annually by an editorial sub-committee. The Annual is in full colour and incorporates articles, Major Trophy Show results, Bull Terriers who have gaining KUSA championship status and adverts placed by breeders and clubs. It is an important documented history of the breed in South Africa. The Club in 2005 introduced a Recognition of Merit Award system for Bull Terriers in South Africa. It is hoped that this system will grow to become recognised as a premier award for Bull Terriers and become recognised by the Kennel Union of Southern Africa. The Raymond Oppenheimer Inter-Club Competition is a SABTC competition which is currently hosted by the the Northern Free State Bull Terrier Club. Detailed below you will find further information on the Club, as well as contact details.
